Guest Diver The administrator of the website asked me to explain my post. I don't like common names in any language, but mostly in english, because many times generates mistakes and misunderstandings. This is one of these cases. In english same common names are given (to simplify) to many "animals" , because sometimes animals may be similar to others and is simple to give the same name. But it's not correct. Here we have a nice shell of the family of "Ovulidae" that can be confused with similar shells of the family "Cypraeidae" (they are cousins we can say). The correct common names are "cowry allies" for "ovulidae" and "cowries" for "Cypraeidae", even if I prefer the family names also as common names. 21/11/2017 14:09:31 | |
