RemarksFound singly on coastal reefs and deep estuaries but usually in very deep water of the oceans. Depth - 10-200 m. The bodies of Boxfish are covered in a toxic mucus which can be released when stressed. The species is sexually dimorphic. Females and juveniles are pale orange to brown with irregular brown and white lines, while males bright orange with blue lines and spots.
