RemarksA juvenile spotted drum on coral, shot with a slow shutter speed and panning. I've been experimenting with slow shutter speeds. I thought the long fins of a juvenile spotted drum fish would make for an interesting shot as the fins dragged through the water. Juvenile spotted drums usually hide in small overhangs, and when I found one, I proceeded to attempt this idea. However, I was dissatisfied with the background of the overhang as it had muddy colors and angular blackness. On subsequent dives I kept looking for a better background. I kept searching, and finally found this guy. He was luckily--and unusually--out in the open.
